Fine-pitch shaft nuts are usually there to hold preload or retain a stack without backing off, and AP9150436 is the OEM M14 x 1 nut listed for MXV 450 Cross and RXV/SXV 450–550 model families (2006–2011), including drive shaft diagram coverage. Thread pitch and nut height are chosen for the specific shaft and washer stack.
If removed from a staked or threadlocked application, replace rather than reusing a damaged nut. Confirm whether the OEM procedure calls for staking, a locking feature, or threadlocker so the joint retains torque under vibration.
