Husaberg was a small but highly skilled maker of motocross and enduro off-road motorcycles between 1987 and 2014.
Based in Sweden, Husaberg was formed in response to the purchase of Husqvarna by Cagiva in 1987 and its subsequent relocation to Italy. A group of Husqvarna engineers chose to stay in Sweden and founded Husaberg in January 1988.
Although small, Husaberg went on to have considerable racing success, winning the 500cc motocross world championship in 1995, 1997 and 1998 plus six enduro world championships. Husaberg also produced a number of road-legal supermoto machines.
Despite this race success, Husaberg were taken over by KTM in 1995. In 2014, following the Austrian company’s purchase of Husqvarna the year before, KTM decided to rejoin the two historic Swedish brands and Husaberg was discontinued. In its last year, Husaberg produced only enduro machines including the two-stroke TE (in 125, 250 and 300cc capacities) and the four-stroke FE (in 250, 350, 450 and 510cc forms).
