Used in the crankcase ventilation circuit, 897351 is the OE blow-by filter element intended for the Caponord 1200 platform and related applications. Its role is oil-mist separation and particulate capture before gases return to the intake path, helping keep the breather tank and downstream tract cleaner under sustained load and heat.
Replace it when you see oil saturation, restriction symptoms, or during scheduled service on affected 2010–2017 models listed (including multiple Caponord 1200 Rally/USA variants and Dorsoduro 1200). Correct sizing and media specification matter here because an over-restrictive element can alter crankcase pressure behavior.
