Coolant circulation on SR 50 H2O DiTech-era engines depends on the water pump shaft running true at the seal, and impeller shaft AP3LCA000101 is the OEM shaft used on SR 50 H2O (DiTech E2), SR 50 H2O (DiTech+Carb.), and SR 50 H2O NEW (Di-Tech) applications from 2000–2007. The shaft hardness and surface finish are critical where it passes the mechanical seal, which is why the correct part matters more than it looks.
It’s typically replaced during water pump rebuilds when the old shaft is grooved, pitted, or showing seal-track wear that leads to coolant seepage. Check the bearings/bushes and replace the seal as a set, otherwise a new shaft can be damaged quickly by a worn support.
