Where a captive thread is needed in a thin section, D9004174001 is the nut used across several Piaggio/Vespa models (listed 2009–2018). It’s intended for welded or retained mounting points where service access to a loose nut isn’t possible.
The practical advantage is repeatable alignment and faster assembly: a fixed nut keeps bracket positioning consistent and reduces cross-thread risk during reassembly. If you’re replacing one due to stripped threads, confirm the bracket face isn’t deformed, since misalignment is often what kills the threads in the first place.
