Small inserts get lost during airbox work, and AP8220647 is the OEM orifice used in SR 50 airbox systems (SR 50 carb MY, SR 50 IE+Carb. MY, and SR 50 H2O NEW IE+Carb. listings up to 2014). As a calibrated restrictor, it controls flow/bleed characteristics in the intake/airbox routing where the factory design expects a fixed orifice rather than an open passage.
If you’re correcting odd idle behaviour after airbox disassembly, confirm the orifice is present and not blocked with oil residue. Install like-for-like and avoid drilling or substituting “close enough” jets unless you can verify the original metering dimension.
