Air intake routing on several late-1990s and early-2000s Aprilia scooters relies on the molded intake hose AP8220480. It is used on Area 51 models, Mojito Custom and Retrò 50 2T variants with Aprilia engines, and Scarabeo 100 2T airbox configurations listed between 1998 and 2004.
Because intake leaks directly affect mixture stability, the hose’s internal diameter, bend radius, and clamp land spacing must match the original design. Hardened or distorted hoses are a common source of idle inconsistency and lean running on these engines.
