It’s a threaded retaining nut designed for hand/low-tool tightening to secure a terminal clamp or bracket while resisting vibration loosening.
Because it’s part of an electrical retention stack, thread condition and seating are key to maintaining reliable contact and preventing rattles. If the mating clamp is distorted, replacing only the nut won’t solve loosening, so check the clamp faces for flatness and proper alignment.
