Intended as a controlled-failure fastener, AP8176062 is the OEM shear rivet specified for RSV 1000 and RSV 1000 Tuono models built between 2003 and 2009. It is used where impact loads should be absorbed without damaging surrounding structures.
Proper installation ensures predictable shear behavior and avoids distorting adjacent material. Replacing it with standard hardware alters load paths and can result in cracked panels or broken mounting points during minor impacts.
