Retention rings are small parts that prevent expensive mistakes, and AP8163297 is an OEM stop ring used in front fork assemblies across a wide spread of Piaggio-group models. Its thickness and edge profile determine how positively it seats in the groove, which affects stack height and component location inside the fork.
It’s listed on multiple Aprilia scooter and light-moto platforms (Atlantic/Scarabeo/Sport City families among others). Confirm the fork type shown in your diagram (manufacturer and revision), then replace any deformed ring rather than reusing, as spring steel that’s been overstressed won’t hold its groove reliably.
