Sealing rings at pivot points have to hold shape under movement and contamination, and AP8144006 is a gasket ring used across a wide spread of Aprilia platforms (including RSV/RSV4, Tuono, Shiver, Dorsoduro, Caponord, Mana, and others, with listings spanning 1998–2018). It appears in swingarm-related parts diagrams, where it acts as a sealing interface to limit dirt and moisture ingress at the pivot stack.
A flattened or torn ring can accelerate pivot bearing wear by letting grit migrate into the greased area. Installation depends on clean seating grooves and correct assembly order of spacers and dust covers; any burrs or corrosion on the groove edge can cut the ring during assembly.
