For exhaust assemblies on Sport City and related Aprilia platforms, the AP8119796 heat shield is the original protection plate fitted around the pipe. It prevents thermal marking, abrasion, and direct contact between the exhaust body and adjacent plastics.
A new shield maintains the correct clearance under vibration and heat expansion. Mechanics typically install this part when refurbishing the exhaust area or replacing plastics that have been heat-affected by a missing or damaged guard.
