Owners working on V4-platform Aprilias often replace the Aprilia Tuono/RSV4 left rear footrest 897833 when the original has taken a knock or developed excessive play. This OEM rest follows the factory geometry used across Tuono 1000 V4 R and 1100 series models, so it restores the passenger platform without altering bracket alignment or hinge resistance.
Because pillion rests see side loading during mounting and braking, even slight deformation is noticeable to a passenger. Mechanics prefer the genuine left-hand rest because the casting, grip profile and hinge motion match the opposite side, giving two-up riders a predictable and comfortable footing position.
