The hose construction is designed for brake-fluid compatibility and pressure stability, limiting line expansion under high lever loads.
Swap it if the outer sheath is chafed, the fittings show corrosion, or the hose has been twisted during caliper or master-cylinder work. Any line replacement should be followed by a full bleed and a clearance check at full lock and full fork compression.
