Seat and steering lock actuation on SR 50 variants depends on a cable that routes cleanly through tight bodywork without binding, and lock cable 896470 is the specified control cable for multiple SR 50 H2O and carb/Di-Tech configurations, including SR 50 R H2O 2T E4 lock assemblies. It replaces the earlier AP8214238 reference while maintaining the same intended fit and end fittings.
Replace it when the lock feels notchy, doesn’t return cleanly, or the inner cable shows corrosion from water ingress. Correct routing is the whole job here: avoid sharp bends at the headset and under-seat run to prevent premature fraying and heavy pull effort.
