Valve-train containment and oil control depend on cover rigidity and sealing geometry, and head cover 879883 is the cylinder head cover used on Caponord 1200 and Dorsoduro 1200 variants. It provides the mounting and enclosure for the top-end while maintaining the designed sealing line across the head.
Replacement is usually required after impact damage, stripped threads, or sealing-surface deformation that won’t true up. Fit it with the correct gasket set and follow the torque pattern to avoid cover distortion.
