A correctly sized O-ring prevents nuisance leaks and pressure loss, and O-ring 878434 is specified for crankcase-related assemblies on Caponord 1200 and Dorsoduro 1200 applications. The cross-section and material compound are selected for the temperature and fluid exposure in that circuit.
Always replace O-rings once disturbed, particularly if they show flattening or nicks. Light lubrication on assembly helps prevent pinching, and the groove should be inspected for debris that can cut the seal.
