Spacing hardware is usually a tolerance stack fix, and 856180 is the spacer listed across multiple Dorsoduro models (2008–2018 range, including 750/900/1200 variants). It’s used to maintain a defined gap between mounting faces, controlling alignment and load distribution in the relevant assembly.
The functional advantage is repeatable fit-up: correct spacer length prevents side-loading bolts and reduces vibration from distorted brackets. If the original spacer shows fretting or oval wear, inspect the mating faces for movement, since the spacer is often the first indicator of an underlying looseness issue.
