In the carburetor assemblies used on many Aprilia RS 50, Derbi GPR and Senda models, the spring 00G03200721 works together with the air and fuel adjustment hardware to maintain correct tension. It helps the screw stay in position under vibration and makes sure the return force and feel at the carb are consistent over time.
A fatigued or shortened spring can allow settings to drift, which shows up as an idle that gradually changes or a mixture screw that no longer holds its position. Replacing it with the original Piaggio spring is a low cost way to bring stability back to the carb, especially when you are already inside the system for cleaning, rejetting or other maintenance.
