Various Aprilia RS 125 and Vespa 946 oil-pump assemblies rely on the 006409 Ring to maintain the correct axial location of pump gears and related components. It sits at a controlled depth on the shaft, ensuring the gear set tracks cleanly without rubbing the pump housing.
Any signs of drift or endplay in the pump drive are reasons to replace this retaining ring. A new Piaggio Ring restores proper spacing within the lubrication circuit, which protects the pump from premature wear and ensures stable oil delivery across the rev range.
