Model Description
Launched originally in 2001 and never quite as loved or respected as its FJ1100/1200 predecessor, Yamaha’s big, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder, 146bhp sports-tourer has nevertheless been good enough to become a fixture in the Japanese firm’s line-up. It’s been significantly updated twice since then (most recently in 2013) and what it lacks in charisma and style it arguably more than makes up for with solid, durable, shaft-drive performance, decent equipment and great comfort, an optional semi-automatic gearbox and impressive all-round ability.
