Model Description
Launched in 1986 as a bigger brother to the then revolutionary GSX-R750, widely considered to be the first true ‘racer replica’, the original big ‘Gixxer’ was actually less fearsome than that sounds and is now considered a classic. Subsequent revisions, while retaining the characteristic oil-cooled engine and cradle frame formula, though potent and popular were less successful, particularly on track. Big, burly, powerful and particular, the 1987 ‘J’, 1989 ‘K’, 1991 ‘L’ and more were all increasingly left behind, but still have macho appeal.
