Model Description
Now superseded by the CRF-X liquid-cooled, four-stroke single cylinder enduro family (which are basically modified versions of the CRF-R motocrossers), Honda’s XRs were a highly regarded family of air-cooled, four-stroke enduro bikes built from 1980 right the way up to the early Noughties in a boggling 10 different capacities. The most popular, however, were the 250, 650 and, latterly, the 400 version. All were rugged, capable and straightforward but the 400 version, introduced in 1996 and discontinued in 2004, was generally regarded as the best all-rounder of the bunch.
