Model Description
Clever scooter/motorcycle hybrid was launched as a three-bike family in 2012 and comprised the NC700S roadster, NC700X adventure-styled machine and this, a pseudo-scooter. With 51bhp from its low-revving parallel twin engine (though this subsequently rose to 54bhp when the S and X was increased to 750cc in 2014) plus motorcycle-style twin-spar chassis and 17-inch wheels it’s dynamics are more motorcycle than scooter but it retains practical touches from the latter like decent weather protection and luggage capacity. Best of all, though, is the semi-automatic ‘DCT’ transmission, as also available on the VFR1200. Overall: oddball and expensive but impressively able.
