Model Description
The sportiest of an all-new, three-bike ‘family of 500cc parallel twins introduced by Honda in 2014 to meet the new 47bhp A2 licence regulation (the others being a CB500F roadster and CB500X adventure-styled variant).
As such, although slightly built down (in Malaysia) to a price (although the updated, restyled versions introduced in 2016 are a marked improvement, complete with sharper styling, new exhaust and preload adjustable forks), as a purpose-built design it ticks all the right boxes: it’s a doddle to ride for novices (and yet still rewarding for more experienced types), has a good enough chassis, is affordable and very cheap and economical to run and has enough classy Honda touches to satisfy – and all in a package that’s pleasingly more substantial than some 300cc rivals.
