Model Description
All-new successor to CBR1000F sport-tourer blended huge power (164bhp), relatively light weight (as developed from its CBR600F and CBR900RR Fireblade), class leading, stealth-styled, aerodynamics (hence the Super Blackbird spy plane moniker) and typically Honda refinement and quality to become the king ‘hyperbike’ when launched in 1997 – in fact so much so that, despite its demise in 2005, it remains hugely respected and in demand today.
Improved with fuel-injection and ram air in 1999, the Blackbird is a class act: a comfortable and versatile sports-tourer that’s also smooth, refined and utterly reliable while also retaining a ballistic edge – few bikes accelerate or are as quick as a Blackbird.
