Model Description
Although it lived on until 2012, Guzzi’s original California had been out of date by the mid-1990s and was desperately in need of a major update. It was a long time coming but this, the result, was more than worth the wait. Although still a traditional transversely-mounted shaft drive V-twin, everything about the 1400 California was new, right down to its sumptuous art deco styling and detail touches, immensely grunty 95bhp and 1380cc engine and modern electronics package which includes switchable riding modes and ABS. As a result, for the first time in living memory, Guzzi has a big, US style tourer worthy of comparison with any – it’s not cheap, though.
