Model Description
Aprilia has often described itself as the ‘Italian Honda’ both for its quality and spirit of innovation and bold design – and there’s no better example of this than the brilliant – but flawed – Mana 850. With a scooter-style, fully automatic, CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) final drive system allied to a purpose-built, 839cc V-twin mounted in a motorcycle chassis, effectively the Mana is half-bike, half-scooter. Like a scooter it’s easy to ride and there’s storage space under the dummy tank. Unfortunately, being heavy and just 75bhp it wasn’t enough like a bike to succeed. A GT version with fairing and ABS was added in 2009 but it still did not prove a success.
